There’s a strong case for supplementing with Coenzyme Q10 (CoQ10), Hawthorn, Quercetin & Taurine after age 45. Here are the facts:

Did you know?

  1. Your body begins synthesizing less and less CoQ10 after age 25.
  2. By age 45 most people show a significant decrease in CoQ10 concentrations in the heart muscle (as well as lungs, liver, and other tissues).
  3. CoQ10 is required by the heart muscle (and many other cells) to convert food into energy (ATP) to maintain normal cardiac output.
  4. A sub-optimal concentration of CoQ10 in the heart muscle is strongly associated with an increased risk of congestive heart failure and rising blood pressure with age.
  5. Congestive Heart Failure is the leading cause of hospital admissions after age 65, and CoQ10 and Hawthorn have been used to help reverse congestive heart failure in many human clinical studies.
  6. Hawthorn extract enhances the energy production ability of CoQ10 (by increasing cAMP) to help ensure optimal heart muscle ejection fraction
  7. Quercetin, a unique flavonoid, is associated with decreased blood vessel inflammation and decreased cardiovascular disease mortality in longitudinal studies (e.g., Zutphen Elderly Study).
  8. The age-related decline in CoQ10 is also shown to weaken the immune system and make lung tissue more susceptible to various air pollutants.
  9. Taurine levels also decline substantially, as we age. Taurine can have a positive effect on blood pressure regulation and neutralizing free radicals that can damage the heart muscle cells. It also can regulate blood fat levels and improve overall heart function in those with certain existing cardiovascular conditions.
